Kubbis a lawn game where the objective is to knock over wooden blocks by throwing wooden batons at them. Kubb can be described as a combination of bowlingand horseshoes. Play takes place on a small rectangular playing field, known as a "pitch". "Kubbs" are placed at both ends of the pitch, and the "king", a larger wooden block, is placed in the middle of the pitch. The ultimate objective of the game is to knock over the "kubbs" on the opposing side of the pitch, and then to knock over the "king", before the opponent.
The Michigan Kubb Championship will be using the U.S. National Kubb Championship® Rules V3.2b. with the exception oftworules:
1)Minimum 2 players, no player may throw more than 3 batons per round
2)The "Neighbor Rule" which can be found in the Kubb United Rules for Open Play
There will be 7 qualifying rounds of single games each having a 25 minute time limit using the "Klassic Format". After that the top 8 teams will be seeded in the championship bracket, the next 24 teams (9-32) will be seeded in the Silver bracket. All teams that enter are guaranteed to play 8 games.
